April 2023 – Celebrating yet another order from a prestigious customer for our Super Manway Cannon System including a Striker ROV. It seems the tank cleaning world have seen that the TONKA type crawlers that have been put on the market do not do the job and in particular with large diameter crude oil tanks. There have been several failures with a variety of problems including lack of stability, lack of traction and a large unmanageable umbilical. Also getting the umbilical wrapped round roof legs does not help. Clearly designed by engineers who have not had the personal experience of cleaning a tank the old fashioned way and therefore knowing what conditions a ROV needs to contend with.
